Derek O'Brien is a well seasoned and highly trained pastry chef. He has worked in many of the finest Michelin starred restaurants and hotels on the Continent, in England and here in Ireland.

Derek has traveled the seven seas while working on the famous ship, the QE2. Derek was the head pastry chef at the award winning K-Club, host to the Ryder Cup Tournament in 2006, for many years. He has now setteled down in County Kilkenny where Coco Zen has been established.

Derek has become quite notable for his handcrafted chocolates and specialty cake design. He likes it to be called 'Edible Art' or at least 'Tasteful art'.
